While reconfiguring my home network I had an opportunity where my old 24 port POE Zyxel GS1920 24HP switch was not in use and I was able to measure its idle power consumption.
Note that I’ve replaced the fans in this unit with quieter fans that are probably less power hungry than the originals – the power draw is about 2W higher when they’re spinning flat out at boot up than when the unit is idling with them at a dull annoying whirr.

The answer is about 25W, fluctuating between about 24.5 and 25.8W. This is with only 1 port active and no POE loads. Good to know – $50 pa at today’s prices. Measured on an Athom smart plug. Of course this is the baseline, it will increase with addition of devices, especially POE.
